SBA Committees
Finance Committee
This committee is chaired by the Treasurer of the SBA. The Committee approves budgets for all student organizations and funds SBA related activities.
Constitution and By-Laws Committee
This committee interprets the Chicago-Kent College of Law Student Bar Association Constitution. The committee further makes recommendations, resolutions, and amendments to the constitution for vote by the SBA.
Elections Committee
This committee conducts, supervises, and certifies all elections and referenda.
IIT Relations Committee
This committee facilitates communication between students and the main campus administration. It also makes students aware of their rights, privileges, and benefits as an IIT student.
Social Committee
This committee puts on periodic socials throughout the year. Socials run by the committee are the traditional Dean’s Social in the fall and two Conviser Bashes.
Speakers Program Committee
This committee presents at least one speaker program during the academic year. The committee presents the “SBA Fall Lecture” during the fall semester. In addition, the committee works with other student organizations to sponsor and present speakers programs at the law school throughout the academic year.
Law Week Committee
This committee is co-chaired by the SBA vice presidents, who plan and supervise the annual Law Week program.
Barrister’s Ball Committee
This committee will plan all events related to the annual Barrister’s Ball.
Curriculum Committee
This committee will promote and make suggestions for modification of the curriculum including classes, final exams, read week, etc.
American Bar Association Law Student Division Committee
This committee is chaired by the ABA representative for Chicago-Kent. The committee will put on an annual Work-A-Day community service event.
Board of Inquiry Committee
This committee oversees allegations concerning members of the Student Bar Association Board of Governors. The committee will determine if the allegations are with merit, and if necessary vote to remove a member from office.
